Combined, we have 259 children, 122 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
14 of us served in the U.S. Armed Forces for a combined total of 235 years, including 3 still on active duty.
83 of us spent a combined total of 254 years earning 19 Associates, 55 Bachelors, 15 Masters and 3 Doctorate degrees.
Our most-traveled? One of us has visited 49 U.S. States or Territories, and another has visited 22 foreign countries.
3 of us have birthdays this month, and 5 of us have birthdays in December.
Currently, 10 of us are retired.

Oliver T. JAMES | Visit Guest Book HAMPTON - Oliver T. James, 50, of Hampton, Va., entered into eternal rest on July 30, 2011, surrounded by family and friends. Born Jan. 21, 1961, in Baltimore, Md., to the late Oliver James and Barbara A. Ransom Williams.
O. Jay as he was affectionately called was a dedicated and faithful member of Zion Baptist Church where he ministered through the bass guitar since the age of 12. The guitar being his passion, he created and participated in many bands locally and nationally. Music was his desire, but O. Jay was also a noted artist and athlete.
O. Jay was preceded in death by his fathers, Oliver James and William F. Williams; mother, Barbara A. Ransom Williams; brother, Ronald D. Williams; loving wife, Maria L. James; and nephew, Sean D. Williams. Survived by his one and only son, Markus L. James of Orangeburg, S.C.; brother, Gerald T. Williams of Houston, Texas; sister, Lisa M. Bland, nephew, Gary J. Williams, niece, Johlisa P. Bland all of Yorktown, Va.; goddaughter, Angela Daye, Newport News; special friend, Renee Jones, Suffolk, Va.; and a host of family and friends.
Viewing will be from 1 to 6 p.m. Friday at Nickelson-Cummings funeral home and two hours prior to the service. A homegoing service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6, 2011, at Zion Baptist Church, 633 20th Street, Newport News, VA 23607. Interment will follow In Parklawn Memorial Park, Hampton, Va.
